Mario Moreno defined his character Cantinflas as “a guy lacking in culture, in preparation, but who is ready to face any type of situation. That he is not embarrassed to talk to you about what he does not know and you do know; that he argues with you and in the end he wins because he tells you: you know what he is saying but I am right”. It would be almost impossible to agree on which are the best or most remembered phrases of this beloved character. His passage through the film world marked the comedy genre in Latin America and is still present for new generations.
His character, a young man with a piece of cloth on his shoulder, his pants tied with a drawstring, a worn hat and who made everyone who saw him on the screen laugh, is more than an icon and is loved by children and adults.

“Cantinflear is to speak in a crazy and incongruous way and without saying anything,” reads the Academy dictionary. For some, the definition of the RAE to describe the way of speaking of the character of Cantinflas has fallen short.
